Seattle native and front man of groups Soundgarden and Audioslave Chris Cornell, 52, was found dead in his hotel room at the MGM Grand Detroit early Thursday morning after a show Wednesday night at the Fox Theatre. His death was ruled a suicide by hanging. Cornell had performed with Soundgarden at Detroit’s Fox Theatre Wednesday night.

The encore was instead a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “In My Time of Dying”, the last song Cornell would ever perform on stage. The song opens: “In my time of dying, I want nobody to mourn. All I want for you is to take my body home”.

Fuck, man. RIP.
